"Another long day at the office. Everyone asked me to do everything. Well, I worked on several things - getting going home packets ready, talked with everyone on the phone, and got stats ready. Well, we were there until about 6:30 and then we came home and there was a youth night here at our house. That was a lot of fun and weird that it is here where we are living. Well, I guess that's about all for tonight - life is weird here."

Party

"Sunday is a good day to do misisonary work as we found out today. Well, we went to the meeting this morning, and that was nice. We got to help out a bit, and we met some of our members. After the meeting, we came home and talked with Elder Beck and Lister for a little bit. We ate a big lunch and then got ready to go. Well, we walked for awhile and went to some members. We did a 1st lesson with a non-active member, and that was awesome. Well, there was some kind of party out on the square because today is День Города. Well, for tonight I have to go, but on to tomorrow."

Hard Times

"What a day. Nothing as planned. This morning we tried to figure out the washing machine and so we washed our clothes. Well, we then went to the office - we thought we'd write home for free. Well, no one was there, and we don't have keys. We had to wait for Elder Bennett's photographs and so we just walked around. We figured we would eat, and so we went to McDonalds, but it was super busy - line out the door. Well we then came back and found an internet place - two steps from the place we are living right now. We then made pizza on батонs and then I slept for an hour and a half or so. I felt much better, and we decided to contact to learn our area a bit. Well, we found out that our area is not such a great place for contacting as there is very few people on the street. We came home few minutes early, and planned a little. We are finding out why it is hard to work here. The people are very young - and they drink a lot. There are a lot of buisnesses in our area, and so that is hard. We just need to buckle in and focus, and then everything will work out!"

Packets

"Another day in the office, and it was sure interesting. We were theren until 8, and I was so busy. Elder Hunsaker saved me today because we were so busy and Elder Anderson decided to not show up. Well, I put together going away packets for everyone, and then I sat and worked on finding more information for those going home. Well, I am losing track of time, and it is insane. All I do is sit at my computer, and work, and help President. It is sure a crazy job. It is getting better, but I just need to keep my head on straight."

"What another exciting day in the office. We learned a lot more, and I feel like I helped out a bit. Well, we didn't do much else. I read some interesting stories about missionaries that have had scary experiences here in Russia. It was crazy to see how lucky I am - no incidents. Well, tonight we went to a youth night that was pretty boring - no one came. We are now home. The office life is sure different. I never really understood until I came here. Well, I sit at the computer most the day, and just type and make plans. What a life - I'll get use to it."

Dead Missionaries

"We have survived the first day in the office. I don't know how I am going to live. I hope that it gets better. I think it will, but today I did very little. We got oriented there in the office a bit before heading to lunch and a few other things. Well, we did got with the Ehlerts tonight to a lesson, and I translated a little bit for Sister Ehlert. Basically, we are going to die here. Well, not really, but it will be better to work tomorrow. Elder Anderson and Pritchett are both dead. They are funny guys, but it is crazy to see such missionaries. Well, for now I guess I will go, but things are different here."

New City, New Life

"We have officially arrived in Samara, and we are living like kings. We are in an apartment that has 4 rooms and a kitchen. It is sweet - too bad we won't be here too long. Well, I said my goodbyes to the area there in Энгельс, and it was sad. We did some contacting (for good times) and then we stopped by to Тамара and got introduced to a great lady - Вера. Well, I did a little packing and then Роман - Водитель Миссии - came at about 4. I said my goodbyes to Ст. Smoot, and then we took off. It was about a 4 hour drive to get here, and so we are relaxing. Elder Bennett is the new comp, and he seems like a good guy. We hope that all will go well in the office and that we can work hard. I am sure going to miss Энгельс, but I guess that life goes on so I will work hard here, and try to enjoy it."
