"It was a long day. I had trouble understanding a lot today. I just need to keep at it. Also today, we had to register Elder Jensen, and that took just over 2 hours, so I mainly just sat and studied. Also, we had a district meeting today, and that went well. We determined that we need to find more people through members.
We had an appointment with Женя tonight, and he is really going to America. It is crazy. I am worried for him,, but we are trying to get numbers for the church for him there. Anyhow, we ended the night with a meeting with Настие, Ольга, и Моша. We mainly talked, and shared a short message with them. It was a good meeting! This work is awesome!"

Temple Blessings
22 August 2004
"Another Sunday came and gone, but it was nice to be able to work with the people here. We had the usual sacrament, and it went really well - it was nice to sit and enjoy things there. We stopped by to Сестра Лидия и Ангелина after the meeting, and had an awesome experience there.
Сестра Лидия had been sick, so that's why we stopped by. We talked about the temple with them, and the spirit was absolutely awesome. We explained that the Lord would bless them, and that they would be there someday. It is is awesome the faith of the people here. They have so little in the church, but they keep on going. They are a great strength to the church.
We ended the night on a meeting with Маша и Наташа. It was awesome to talk about missionary work with them, and how they can help. They are ready and excited to help. The people here are so blessed, and faithful. I love them to death."

Visits

"It was the day of knocking! We got home and our water didn't work because our sink was broken, and someone had come and turned it off while we were gone. We ran to the elders apartment, showered and started our laundry. We came back and ate as well as planned the day. We also bought the piece to fix our sink - which we got fixed.
So we went off and we knocked on 4 different doors - investigators doors that is - and not one was home. They were all away. So we ended the night with a visit to Ольга и Аня, and they are doing well. We also met there husband/father - Владим - hopefully they will all be baptized.
It was nice to finally be back in Ижевск!"

Work Hard

"We are back in Ижевск as I write, so that is nice. We were finally able to leave yesterday - Friday the 20th at 5. Before that, we were with Elder Ray and Smith again. We just tried to visit people, but not much happened. After the visits, Elder Jensen and I headed to the office...
Right now, Elder Jensen is sleeping because he only slept maybe an hour on the bus ride here. I have determined over this past week that I am going to work hard and keep all the rules. I have seen a lot of elders that break the rules just a little, and I don't want to be like that. I need all the help I can get from the Lord. It will be a hard goal to reach, but I know with the Lord, all is possible. I want it to be the best 2 years, not just great ones."

Still In Samara

"Well, we're still here in Самара. We weren't able to leave today which isn't good. Elder Jensen is not happy - he is really mad, and I want him to be happy. The Lord will bless our investigators if we work hard here in Samara. Anyhow, that's exactly what we did here today. i was with Elder Lauritsen and we stopped by to see a lot of people, but none were really home!
We are back in their place tonight - Ларицен и Гроен. We will be leaving tomorrow at 5, so it will be nice to get back to our work in Ижевск. I know that the Lord will bless us as we continue to work hard here! Here's to tomorrow!"

Beautiful River

"What an amazing day here in Samara. Elder Jensen returned, and had a good trip. Also, we got to write home and see how all were doing. BJ is doing well, and getting all settled in. We then went on a walk around Samara. The Volga river is awesome here. For lunch we ate at McDonalds, and it was of course good. We then returned home, and wrote and slept.
Tonight we had 2 appointments. I was with Elder Рэй and we went to a small little FHE with Сергей and Андрей. It was fun. After that, we met with Larissa. She was having a hard time. We gave her a blessing and I was able to anoint the oil. It was an awesome experience, and the spirit was strong. I know that the Lord will bless here if she has the faith. The priesthood is awesome."

Busy Day

"Well, it was a super busy day, and I was on my feet for most of it. We started out the day by stopping by to a lot of people, but nothing much exciting happened. I bought a blank cd that I am going to get some good music on. We then headed to another район and ate what they called pizza. it was tasty. We then began "Blitz": what happens is we all get a different area, and go out and talk with as many people as we can.
We met about 10 people and got some numbers and addresses. After that, we went to English lesson and there was 2 people there. Exciting! We did sing some Country Music for them though. After the lesson, we ran to FHE where I had a nice surprise to see Юля. She was in Ижевск when I first arrived. We talked for a bit about the branch, and other things. She is super nice and I am excited for her to Ижевск.
Anyhow, that is about all. The mission is awesome. I absolutely love it. I have learned much about myself, and I have learned that I will need to work on trusting him more. The Lord will bless me. I must learn to trust him more."
