"Ohh say can you see, by the dawns early light...what a 4th of July. There were fireworks, food, and fun. We had a huge get together and partied our guts out. OK, we were just in the office most of the day. Nothing major - I meant we're in Russia. Let's just say there was no Russian celebrations. So we went to Ehlert's place this morning and helped them to talk with their land lady. That went went well, and we got breakfast out of it - eggs, ham, and toast. Well, we went to the office we started our stuff - statistics - before having собрание округа. That went a lot longer than it should have, but it was all good I guess. Well the ZL's did make us lunch for the 4th and we all ate together. We had chili dogs as it's fairly American. It was tasty and smelly - I think you caught the hint. Well, we had a little time before we ran to the church to serve. We helped do some Russian ремонт that didn't do a lot of good. Basically there was zero point to it. Who puts styrofome up to cement walls with nails? It will be pretty once they put up the wall paper there - ok, it will only last for a year and then fall apart like all Russian ремонт. Well, we helped for a couple hours and then we went back to the office where I finished up the stats. I also made the cake that my family sent me. Wow! That was way good and I absolutely loved it. It was the best cake I have had in a long time. Well, we got home late as we had to help the APs on the computer to get the transfers finished up. Tomorrow will be crazy again. Off to getting ready!"

Long Day
3 July 2005
"I am going to write less then usual because I am way hungry. I haven't eaten for 24 hours because it is fast sunday. It was harder than usual because I started so late last night, and we had to work today. Well, it was hard and I am glad it is almost over.
So today we had sacrament meeting, and that went well. I enjoyed it and I felt good - better than yesterday. I helped a lot and felt useful. Well, after the meeting we had to wait for President Колцов because Elder Bennett is the new branch secretary. We left and we met with Вячеслав. He is well, but he is still not committing to coming back to church. We then contacted a bit before stopping by to Степан for a few minutes. He keeps saying that he will come, but he doesn't come. We went to get him to come, but we got the same thing from him. He says he'll try (постараюсь). We then came home and I wrote President. I am now going to go eat and then tonight I will make something for the 4th. I feel much better today, and my attitude is a lot better. That helped not only me, but everyone else also I think. Well, I am going to eat, so I'll write again tomorrow night."

Fun Day

"Today we wrote home and that went well. My family seems to be doing well, and my brother is loving his mission. I am way happy for him. Well, I also wrote a letter to a bunch of other people. After that, we went and got products for this next week. We then went in search for a bag for the vacuum and ended up just buying disks instead. Well I bought a few DVDs and so that was cool. We ate at the chicken place again (РОДИКС). We then walked around for a bit before at 5 we went to the church for an activity. It was alright, and at least fun to watch. All the missionaries were there from Togliatti. Elder Nance who will be the new AP is way cool. He is really wild and has a lot of fun. It will be a lot of fun with him. Well, we forgot to start fasting, so tomorrow will be a long day. I guess that's what I get for forgetting. I am headed to bed for now!"

American Investigator

"We officially have a new investigator. He's a really cool guy named Tom. He is a truly humble man who has been through a lot. He is almost 70 although you couldn't tell by his looks. He is here serving in an orphanage and he is wanting to know the truth. Well, we had a long discussion with him and we taught him to the first lesson. It was awesome when Elder Ehlert shared the first vision. It was very spiritual, and it was a wonderful lesson. We gave him the Book of Mormon and he was very eager to read it. He even called us tonight and asked us a question about his reading. Anyhow - he is way awesome and we hope to be able to help him understand more next time.
So the other cool story was that Сергей got baptized. He was the ZL's investigator, and he was way cool. He is a great guy and I think that he will be a great member if only they will get him a calling. Well, I also gave a blessing for the first time in a long time to a girl named Алла from Безыманский. She had a migraine. Well that was better after we gave the blessing. Also today I worked on putting a computer together, but it didn't work out so well for me. I couldn't get the CD-Rom to work on it. I also worked on getting my access stuff to work, but I couldn't still. So basically that was our day. It was a good one - nice to have had a meeting finally and to have a new investigator. Life is better with an investigator. Now we just need a few more, and life will be great."

Drunks

"We got out and worked for a bit tonight again. That was nice, and I really enjoyed it. This morning we had time to study again, so that was nice. I like when there is time to study. Anyways - the bad news is that we had to go to the office after studying. Well, today I did a lot actually. This morning we got a bunch of e-mails and I had to write back on those. Well, then I started to learn about Word and how mail merge works. It is a very powerful program. Well, then that meant I had to learn Access also. I started on that, but I still have not got it figured out completely. I will have to work on that a lot again tomorrow. Well we then decided to go out and contact a bit tonight. Nothing came from it, but we did talk with some crazy drunks. It has been awhile since that happened. We talked a lot as often happens when we contact so that was cool. We talked about transfers and that was interesting. We of course are sure that we will still be here for another cycle. We shall see how that goes. Tonight I want to make some popcorn so I will go do that for now. Tomorrow will be interesting."

Training and More

"Wow - this is the craziest week - it is just flying. Today we did have time to plan at least. We set some goals and so that is good. We needed to do that as it helps me to work. Well, after studying we went to the office as always to begin our day. Well, right now is not the funnest time because like I said, I have понес. Well, lets just say that it doesn't help me to go any faster. Well, in the office I just worked on the main things as always. I did figure out how the Access program works better now. That is a good thing as I often do lots in there. So for lunch we decided we would be creative and go out to eat. Well, lets just say that we found a really disgusting place to eat. It was a sandwich place, but it sure wasn't good. Well, after we ate we went back to the office and worked on a few things, but nothing spectacular. We got out of the office and we went to баба Нина's house. There we met with her and with Зинаида and we talked about the 3 kingdoms. After that we went to the church to meet with the Ehlerts. There we helped them with a training and it was interesting to learn more about how the church works - about the order and everything. Well, we got home late because of that. Today we had an interesting experience. An American that lives here was in Poland when he met some missionaries. Well, he wanted to know more about the church and so he gave his e-mail. Elder Bennett wrote him and today he called. He wants to meet - Friday, and so we are getting ready for that. What an awesome experience. We'll see how it goes!"

Sick

"Another day gone. Wow, how fast the days just fly by. So today we had our MEC meeting. I like that meeting and today it was alright. The bad thing is that I don't feel that great today, and so it was hard to concentrate. I actually have had понес and so that is never fun. Well, the meeting went well, and I have a lot to do this week now. Well after the meeting I just sat there and thought about what I needed to do as I just couldn't concentrate. I did get a lot done. Lunch was really good - we had chicken nuggets and fries. Wow just like home! Well, we did decide to get out but that was because we had english lesson. It was crazy to teach english. Its already been a month since I've taught english. Well, we had one student that came, and he came late, but at least he came. After english I gave a little spiritual thought that went pretty well. It was nice to teach again. Well, we came home and now we're chilling here. I just want to sleep as I don't feel well at all today. I hope that tomorrow I will feel better, but who knows. I guess we'll see."
