English Chic

18 July 2005
"It was a cool night. We met with a guy by the name of Эдуард and his sister and brother-in-law were there. We sat and talked with them, and and had a good time with them. They are super nice people. We got to meet with their daughter and she spake English with us. She was very nice, and very talkative also. We hope that all will work out well for us with them. They invited us to come back at any time. It is awesome with them. Well, this morning we set some goals and we did some studying and that was nice. We went to the office, and I got things started for the MEC meeting and that is good. I was also able to type in everything for the elders that are going to get visas. That led me to собрание округа. That was good to be able to be there and to talk with the округ about life, and about how the work is going. We also talked about how we must show our faith. We must work and do what God wants. Well, after собрание округа, we sat and enjoyed ourselves at lunch. Well, our fax didn't work and that means that we had to get stats thorough the internet. Well, that didn't work out too well as some of the zone leaders aren't responsible. Well we waited before we left to meet with Эдуард. He is a great guy. I love to meet with investigators and to find out how they feel. I miss teaching, and it's great to get out and to teach and get to know people. That's what the mission is about! Wow, I love it here."

Youth Conference

17 July 2005
"God is pouring out his wrath on Samara for the great wickedness. I have seen more white see through shirts, more bikinis, and more immodest women today than I've seen in a lifetime. Its like I'm in Baywatch. They all dress like they want all to look upon their flesh. And it sure doesn't matter what age they are - it's wear less the older you get! The wrath came in the form of rain and the people scattered home. It will never end happily for the wicked!

Well, the reason for the terrible day was because it was so hot! Well it was humid. My body doesn't do well in humidity - I sweat and sweat. It is hard to just sit there when its so hot. We went to church and it was cool. We got to see a ton of youth and that was cool. They were here for youth conference and didn't leave back to Saratov until tonight. Well, we had a lady and she has come several times, but she has never received a BofM. We of course gave her one gladly. The other cool thing at the meeting was that Степан came and also Вячеслав. They are both inactive and it was awesome that they both came today. It feels good to be able to have successes from laboring.

Well, we came home before heading back out to work. We went to a ton of members houses and found out that most the people have moved, and if not then they are inactive and aren't interested. We walked a ton, and we were dead by the end of the night. We went to the Ehlert's at 6 for dinner and had roast beef! Not only that, we had potatoes and squash, and all kinds of tasty stuff. Lets just say that I enjoyed a lot and that I love them! They are an awesome example, and because of them I wan to serve on a mission when I am older and married!"

Heat

16 July 2005
"We spent a day with he Lunts hearing about all the things that they wish they had. Well, it wasn't so bad, but at the same time, it was a long day. This morning we wrote home and we enjoyed that. I sent home a bunch of pictures that I scanned in also. That went well, and I am glad that I finished that. Well, I did a few other things that I needed before we went off with the Lunts. We met the Ehlerts on one of the stops here and headed to Park House. We looked around there for awhile and that was cool. They had all kinds of stuff. One of the coolest places that we looked in was a sports store there on the second floor. They had a lot of cheap stuff, and a lot of cool stuff. I enjoyed looking there, but it made me want to buy something. Well, we bought some products there that we needed for the week. We rode home and then we decided to go to the office to make some lunch. We had bread pizza with the assistants and it was really good. We got some really tasty meat, and it turned out awesome. Well, we then went to work. We had no success, but we walked around a ton and we just died from the heat. We never walk anymore. Well, we went to a few addresses but basically nothing happened. We came home and now we are getting ready to bed. Wow - what a long day. I really want to die from the heat and walking. I guess it's about time after so many nice rainy days."

Immodesty

15 July 2005
"I don't even know where the days go. They just fly by. it is insane. We thought we were going to help the Lunts out this morning, but it turns out she didn't feel too well, so we ended up not helping. Well instead I had to deal with some stupid problems and I talked on the phone for 50 minutes straight. It was insane. I was working on more youth conference problems. Lets just say that the whole youth conference didn't go down so well. I am a lot more grateful for all those activities that leaders planned now. It's more understandable all the troubles they went to in order to plan now. Well, I got it taken care of, but it took the place of comp study. We went to the office to start working. I just did some random necessary things and got most everything done. Well, we there for awhile and then we took off to a meeting with some members. They are good people, and we had a good time with them. Well, we came home and I am ready to crash. I did think a lot about the immodesty here today. It is everywhere. Even the members. It is crazy. They just do it not thinking about it because it is part of life. It is sure sad and hard also. They are good people and just don't understand the sacredness of our bodies. It truly is a gift from God and we need to keep it clean and pure. I wish girls would just dress modestly. That would make life much easier - but I suppose that's why I'm' here - to be tried a little. I'll live, but hey some things about the mission I just won't miss - and the immodest is one of them. I won't let one thing ruin the mission though - I mean come on you got to enjoy yourself."

New Couple

14 July 2005
"I can't even think. I am just dead tired. I don't know why, but I am having a hard time concentrating. I slept well last night, but I think it's because of a couple of nights ago. Well, this morning we were able to get a full day of studying as we are suppose to. It was very nice and I greatly enjoyed it. Well, I pulled out money form the bank for my work fund, and that was nice. I have money again! Well, we went to the office and all the fun began. I sat there for a bit and waited for Elder Kirk to finish typing home before I could begin working. I got some needed flight plans for elders that are leaving. That was nice and that makes life a lot easier. Well, then the Lunts came in and the fun really began. We were doing orientation for them and everyone just talked a ton. I just sat there and wanted to sleep. It was actually kind of cool to be there with them. They are interesting. They are not use to living w/o things so we have to be careful with them. They want so many things that I have gotten use to living w/o. Well, we are going to help them get a few things that they need so hopefully that will go good. After that, we ate and then we ran to Баба Нина's house and met with them. She is great. We then met an old investigator of Elder Hunsaker who asked us to not come back again. That was too bad. We then tried to do some contacting but nothing really came of it. We are now home, and I am going to pass out! The mission is sure an awesome place! I love it!"

Less Chaos

13 July 2005
"Another long one (I know that's how I started yesterday, but it's true). We did have time to study this morning and that was cool. We enjoyed it as it was the first time this week. We set some goals for the coming cycle and that was nice to do that. They seem low to me right now, but I think that they are realistic. So we then went to the office and started to work. I printed off a bunch of letters for incoming missionaries and that was exciting work. After that, I worked on a bunch of other things that I had to get done. I am in the mode to just work and get ahead. It is crazy. I can't believe how much I have to do. Today at least was a little better as there was not so many people in the office...So we ate and then I just sat behind my computer and worked. Talk about a long time. Well, we got to 6:30 and went to the church as we thought there would be a meeting, but it didn't happen. Well, we contacted a bit and that went well, but nothing happened for us. We came home and ate some crap and talked while we are writing. So that was cool, and all is going well. I am a bit tired as we were up a bit with the leaving elders. They got off, so that was good. I am off to do some things to get ready for tomorrow. Off we go!"

Transfer Insanity

12 July 2005
"Another long one and I mean it. There is no way we could have been in the office longer today. We got there at 8 and met the first missionaries. They were only the first of about 50 that were there this morning. That is no lie either. We could barely move. Wow it was insane. Well my head just kept spinning as I didn't have anything to think about. I guess I had tons to think about. It was crazy. Well anyhow I tried to work, and it went all right. I am trying to focus more everyday, but it is hard - especially on these type of days. Well, I did get all the letters done correctly, and that was chaos. Talk about insanity, well, anyhow, we had disorientation and that went well as always. We then went of the best part of the day. That means we got to eat lunch with the Davidiks. It was way good. Well, we enjoyed it a ton, and had a way good time. I love being with the missionaries that are leaving although it is hard. Well, we went back to office and I worked on more random things that I needed to get done. I also was able to see Elder Jensen for the last time while here. Talk about weird - it's very weird. I can't believe that he is leaving. Well, I did some things and now we're home with Elder Becker and McCain - both leaving tomorrow. It's very weird to see them go. Well, I think I best be getting to bed for now. Tomorrow will be an interesting day - a new couple will be here from America."
